The Eckfords will take part in next year’s Trek4Kidz Trek to raise funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Their adventure starts now with initial fundraising and preparation of a car to take part in the week-long rally, set down for August.
The couple has approached many businesses in the Lithgow area appealing for sponsorship dollars.
All donations will be passed on to the Starlight Foundation to be used in its collection of programmes ranging from Captain Starlight through to wishgranting and fun centres.
Over the last 20 years, the Trek has travelled across the Australian countryside spreading the message of awareness around the important work of the Starlight team.
Since its inception the annual week-long trek has visited more than 300 towns, 35 schools and raised over $1,045,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
These funds would enable Starlight to grant 160 life-changing wishes or transform the hospital experience for 28,243 sick children at hospitals around Australia.
Westfund has passed on an initial donation to the couple and is hopeful of attracting further support for them across the local area.
