The talented former Lithgow High School student was selected as one of five fresh faces for the relaunch of the TV show on Channel Nine next year.
Audiences will get to see 18-year-old Courtney in the new lineup for the first time when Hi-5 headline the children’s segment at Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight on Christmas Eve on Channel Nine.
Courtney is set to become a household name as she prepares to wow young audiences on stage and screen.
Lithgow is no stranger to Courtney’s talents, as she has been an active member of the arts community for many years.
Courtney has always given selflessly of her time to support community events such as the Light the Night walk.
She is the winner of many accolades, including the Bronze Thong Country Music Talent Quest in Wattle Flat, a NSW Young Citizen Achievement Award on Australia Day 2015 after being nominated in the fields of Music and Drama and Lithgow Arts Council awards.
Courtney was also chosen as a soloist in the 2014 Schools Spectacular, a huge achievement, and performed at the 2014 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The five new cast members were chosen from more than 450 hopefuls after proving their “triple threat” talent – singing, dancing and acting – during a rigorous nationwide audition process.
“We were blown away with the enormous interest from performers across Australia wanting to be part of Hi-5,” Julie Greene, Executive Creative Director and Executive Producer for Hi-5, said.
“The judging process was extremely tough with so much talent on show, but we know our audiences will fall in love with the new members, just like we have.”
For the first time since Hi-5’s inception 18 years ago, the producers invited performers around Australia to audition for all five spots in the elite children’s entertainment group and received an overwhelming response, staging over 200 auditions in four days.
Courtney has been busy since she graduated from Lithgow High spending a gap year volunteering in Cambodia where she worked on community projects including building a primary school.
In 2017, Hi-5 will perform to sellout crowds across Singapore, Asia and throughout Australia, as well as featuring in their new variety show for the Nine Network on Go! Kids, which goes into production in January.
Courtney will be performing a little closer to home in the new year, with Hi-5 performing a Summer Holiday Show at Leura’s Fairmont Resort in January.
