Miller won the coveted Trustee’s Watercolour Prize in 1977 and 2015 and, for a limited time, some of his best works are on display in a unique setting tucked away in the Blue Mountains.
Descendants of Richard Wynne, the man who established the prize in 1897, opened the exhibit on Friday alongside the Mt Wilson and Mt Irvine Historical Society with Mr Miller and his partner Janie.
Mr Miller looks to the Australian landscape for much of his work with local flora and fauna, but draws on inspiration from a life lived all over the world including Asia and Europe.
“I like Chinese and Japanese poetry and philosophy too,” Mr Miller said, noting them as influences.
The exhibit is open from 11am to 3pm from Saturday October 1 to Sunday October 16.
Entry is $10 and children get in free. Donations go towards maintenance of the Turkish Bath Museum.
The museum is located at 68-76 The Avenue, Mount Wilson.
Paintings, prints and cards are for sale, and the exhibit—for the art and its location—is not to be missed.
