The presentation involved many local sponsors who supported the Bears this season, life members of the club, past and present players as well as their families.
The major awards went to:

This year the Bears had one player who received life membership.
This went to a player who has played or been involved with the club for over ten years, Jared Miller (Baz).
Jared has been a valuable player on and off the field.
This season alone Jared has successfully converted 17 of the Bears tries.
Since 2006 he has scored well over 50 tries, and has played more than 117 games.
He has also played in the five eight position for majority of his football career.
The Lithgow Bears would like to wish Jared, his partner Raissa and their two kids all the best for the future.
Ben Spittles and Tony Northey were both recognised for having played more than 100 games for the Lithgow Bears.
The President’s award was presented by the Lithgow Bears President Ben Spittles to treasurer Peter Hughes.
Pete was the former president for the Bears in 2015 and has been a valuable committee representative, both by passing on his experiences and through his commitment to the Club.
Pete helped the club wherever possible including driving the bus to games, helping in the canteen, selling raffle tickets, grounds manager, cleaning the sheds and much much more.
The Ian Ryan Memorial Club Person of the Year was awarded to Lauren Stevens. Ian Ryan was a former Bears players whose life was tragically taken to soon.
The trophy is presented to people that show outstanding commitment and involvement to the Club.
Lauren took on the secretary’s role at the beginning of the season and proved to be a valuable member to the Bears committee.
“The Lithgow Bears would like to thank everyone who attended the presentation, all sponsors who have come on board this season, supporters, life members, the ball boys, linesman Josh, Carole in the canteen, Mark on the gate and many other people who helped the club throughout the season,” said Lauren.
Expressions of Interest are now open for the 2017 coaching position for the Bears’ men’s New Era Cup Team and the Bears League Tag Team. Applications are to be submitted to Ben Spittles by 11 November 2016.
The Bears AGM will be held on Saturday November 18 at the Lithgow Workmen’s Club starting at 4.00pm. All players and supporters are welcome to attend.
