WORKMENS Club Wolves’ player of the year Brendan West will take his place in the Western Division squad to contest the 2016 Country Championships.
Western’s first game will be at Camden on May 21 when they take on Southern Division.
West is Lithgow’s sole representative and is a reward for his outstanding form throughout 2015 and his games for Group 10 this year.
The big forward is fast, aggressive and has a big motor and is looking forward to a big year.
The Western side will have a distinct Group 11 flavour, with 10 players named.
Group 10 has seven representatives in the squad — Bathurst Panthers duo Brent Seagar and Blake Lawson, Cowra’s Warren Williams, CYMS’ Simon Osborne, Oberon’s Riccie Arriola, Mudgee’s Todd Munn and Lithgow’s Brendan West.
“There’s a good mix there,” coach Darren Jackson said.
“It’s a young side with plenty of ability and they are all fit and firing at the start of the season.
“We’ve named 18 players in the squad and we’ll work out the make up of the final team closer to May 21.
“There are still three competition games and some training session in between.”
