Lithgow’s premier new facility is now providing even greater access for patrons after desire was expressed by working patrons to swim during their lunch breaks.
“I am so pleased to announce that the Lithgow Indoor Aquatic Centre will now be opening its doors from 6am to 7pm on weekdays and 8am to 4pm on weekends,” Lithgow mayor Maree Statham said.
“Council previously said that it would reassess this issue once the pool was opened and now that we have a demand for the extra hours, especially from local schools, the lunchtime closure has been eliminated,” Cr Statham said.
Council’s Swim School will be soon be commencing and will coincide with the NSW school terms, with morning and afternoon sessions on offer.
“There are limited places left in Council’s vital swimming and water safety skills programs for babies from six months of age and preschool and school-aged children.
A large range of Zoggs products including goggles and equipment and swimwear is also now available for purchase all year round from the Lithgow Indoor Aquatic Centre.
Look out later in the year for the new High Summer and Peppa Pig ranges.
“If you haven’t yet experienced our community’s new attraction come down ready to make a splash in the balmy 27°C pool water and experience all Lithgow Indoor Aquatic Centre has to offer,” Cr Statham said.
The decision to close the pool for an hour in the middle of the day has been the subject of some criticism.
