This year the invitation was extended to younger members of the community who were offered a free craft session at the Lithgow library to create some lovely gifts.
The Mayor’s Christmas Appeal was developed to show appreciation to the residents of the aged care facilities for their contributions to the community.
“These people have given so much to their friends, families and the broader community throughout their lives.
“So let’s give back to them with a little gift that says thank you,” Lithgow mayor Maree Statham said.
The craft session took place with kids from St Patrick’s School hard at work crafting some thoughtful gifts.
The Lithgow Library was humming with activity as the kids went about crafting some great pieces such as necklaces, bangles and baskets.
