IT was not a good round for the Workmens Club Wolves teams when they travelled to Orange to take on the Hawks with only the Oz League girls posting a win.

The good news is that the first division, and Under 18s are still well in the top 5 on the competition ladder as are the Oz League girls.
Results were:
UNDER 18s
SECOND placed Wolves were up against the undefeated Hawks side and following a tough match that could have gone either way, went down 18-12.
Hawks crossed over early in the match to lead 6-0.
The Wolves equalised following a powerful run from Darcy Allan saw the in form second rower crash over under the cross bar. Joel Gurney added the extras to make it 6-all with the score remaining at the break.
On resumption, Workies got the best possible start when hooker Wayde Egan scored early in the second half. Gurney converted to give the Wolves a 12-6 lead.
The Hawks dominated possession, building pressure on the Wolves defence that finally cracked to see the home side run in two tries to take the match 18-12.
Front rower Sam Rushworth had a big match with his punishing defence and carted the ball up relentlessly.
Back rowers Matt Swift and Darcy Allan worked hard as did the centre pairing of Nic Kenniff and Liam Wilson.
First Division
WORKIES got away to an early 6-0 lead after winger Chris Evans crossed for a try with Josh Howarth adding the extras.
Hawks levelled the scores at 6-all, but again the Wolves hit the front when hooker Josh Howarth scored and converted his try to see Wolves lead 12-6 at halftime. Hawks came out firing in the second half and scored three converted tries to lead 24-12.
With limited time left on the clock, Workies five-eighth Shane Green crossed over and with the kick unsuccessful Wolves trailed 24-16.
Hawks slotted a late field goal to win the match 25-16.Shane Green had a big match at five-eighth in both attack and defence and was rewarded with a good individual try.
Forwards Brendon West, Brad Pender, Harry Knight and Kip Maranda played well.
Fullback Nick Young tried hard and was supported by centre Ben Glasson.
Oz League
AFTER going down last round to Orange CYMS, the girls were determined not to make it back to back losses and in a dominant performance, blitzed the Hawks' girls 42-4.
Chrissie West spearheaded the win with three tries and had good support from the rest of the team when they registered eight tries all up.
Other try scorers were Katie Dewar, Tayla Gale,Tanya Boza, Kirsty Willmott and Gemma King tries with Chrissy West pilotting five goals goals over for a personal tally of 22 points.
The girls had too much speed and teamwork for the Hawks and will be looking repeat their good form this week when they take on Bathurst Panthers at home.
