Two "watch and act" warnings are in place for fires at Springwood and Mount Victoria in the Blue Mountains.

Fairfax photographer Nick Moir spent the night with firefighters who are attempting to get the better of the fires in the Blue Mountains ahead of Wednesday's forecast for strong winds and hot, dry conditions. See his photos here.
