Claire Mandel is a self sufficient gardener growing all her own food, that is vegetables, fruit and herbs having done this since 1998.
Gardening by the cycle of the moon, Claire soil tests, rotates crops and makes her own dirt.
Claire companion plants, self seeds, seeds her own plants, mulches and makes her own fertiliser.
She is again taking up the position of voluntary project manager of the Lithgow Community Garden and is seeking volunteers to help put her gardening plan into action.
If you are looking to learn how to grow all kinds of vegetables, herbs , fruit and berries, all year you can contact Claire.
You do not need to be strong-armed by the supermarkets, so ring linc on 6352 2077 or email linc.org.au and leave a message for her, or write to her at Community Garden, LINC, PO box 289 Lithgow 2790.
