Community organisations in Calare have been invited to apply for a share of up to $20 million in funding to support the efforts of their volunteers.

“Grants of between $1000 and $5000 will help community organisations in Calare buy equipment such as laptops, pay fuel costs, train volunteers and improve their fundraising,” Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee said.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of our country communities and by continuing to help each other and work together, we are building a stronger and safer electorate.
“Around 22 organisations in Calare were among the 2,690 groups nationally who benefited from the Volunteer Grants in 2016, including the Cudal & District Men’s Shed, the Wellington CWA, the Portland Men’s Shed, and the Mudgee P&C Association.
“I encourage all not-for-profit organisations in Calare to apply for the Volunteer Grants to help make the work of our volunteers easier, safer and more enjoyable.”
