Rob Grady did his best to stem the tide of runs for Hampton, taking three wickets for 35 runs, with help from Matt Palmer’s 2/43 and Sam Miller’s 2/11.

David Wheeler was the best of La Salle’s bowlers (3/12) while Lachlan McMahon backed up his top batting performance with a tidy haul (2/19).

It was a good day out for Matt McManus with the ball. He took 3/15, while Mick Hutchinson, Clint Rochester, Terry Ford Jon Cronin and Steve Cronin all took one each.

SECOND GRADE
La Salle Hornets v Lidsdale Lions
Luke Thompson starred with the ball to lead the La Salle Hornets to a Round 14 win on Saturday.
Phil Wright had got the Lidsdale team off to a cracker of a start, setting off with a trio of fours to build a total of 59.
His fellow batsmen struggled, however, against a sustained attack by La Salle’s Luke Thompson and Anthony Brown. Blake Caldwell and Sam Giokaris both went for ducks in the number two and three spots before Sam Rushworth fought back, scoring a handy 38.
The team struggled to add runs from that point, finishing all out for 139. Thompson finished with a remarkable 5/29 off his four overs, with Anthony Brown taking 2/9.
La Salle did not have the best start, with opener Michael Wren out for zero.
David Glasson stepped into the breach and made 69*, with Lachlan Yates adding 31 and Mark Dicker 35*.
Blake Caldwell, Nick Bender and Dom Dellabosca all claimed wickets for Lidsdale.

In reply, there were three half centuries in a row from Hampton’s batsmen: Matt Gerard (51), Jack Bilby (52) and Ryan Bilby (63*) to set them well on the way to their total of 228 to win.
Wickets were taken by Quentin Kidd (2/48), Mark Thompson (1/33) and Dan Hine (1/41).
