On court four Rottweilers played Dalmatians with great rallies and deuces for most games. Bev Kelly stepped in for Dalmatians and led the team with consistent returns and serves. The battle between Dalmatian Sandy Cox and Rottweiler Val Henry was an endurance test with long rallies all day.
Robyn Patterson for Dalmatians placed her returns beautifully except when targeting Rottweiler Colinette Morris on the net once, no harm done. With their overall consistency Rottweilers won this match 30-24.
On court six it was a similar match between Kelpies and Pit Bulls. Susan Johns and partner Pam Fields managed to win their set 5-4 with their solid returns and great serving.
However, Kelpies Carol Osborne had good net coverage and Liz Conroy’s accurate lobs ensured their team’s 33-21 victory.
The next round of the competition on February 22 will see Kelpies take on Poodles and Rottweilers meet with Pit Bulls.
Bye: Dalmatians
Cake duty: Pit Bulls
