A Bowenfels woman has been placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond for damaging property after running her car, which had her two small children inside, into the back of her ex-partner’s empty vehicle.

The 27-year-old was charged with damaging the vehicle and common assault after an altercation with her ex in Lithgow on Australia Day, 2017.
The court heard the pair, who have two children together, got into a verbal argument which escalated. The woman struck her ex-partner on the face and chest before returning to her car, which had the children inside.
According to police facts tendered to court, the woman threatened to smash his car, which was parked in the driveway, and the man moved to close the gates to prevent it. She drove into the gates and then went on to hit the car from behind, causing significant damage.
The man reached into the car and got hold of the keys, throwing them away from the woman. No one was injured.
The woman was also placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond for the assault.
Negligent driving
A Crookwell man was found guilty of negligent driving after abandoning a vehicle, owned by his mother, in a paddock on Jenolan Caves Road at Lowther.
The vehicle had crashed through a fence on February 24, 2017, destroying about 40m of its length and the property owner had to organise for the vehicle to be towed.
Carl Brent Druett, 34, was fined $550 and disqualified for three months in Lithgow Local Court on February 9. The court heard the vehicle had slid along the eastern side of Jenolan Caves Road, hitting two road signs before running through the fence and flipping onto its roof.
No claim
A Katoomba man has been ordered to repay more than $21,000 in government financial support he received over a two year period after it was found he had obtained it unfairly.
Peter John Jones, 41, was found to have provided incorrect information about his income from construction and retail work when he was claiming a government Newstart Allowance between April 2014 and April 2016.
He was sentenced in Lithgow Local Court on February 8 to complete 200 hours of community service.
Community service order
A Bowenfels woman has been ordered to complete 150 hours of community service for driving disqualified. Kendall Maree McKenzie, 37, was charged on September 12, 2017, after she was pulled over at Bilpin. Her licence was also disqualified for 12 months in Lithgow Local Court on February 9.
McKenzie was also fined a total of $880 after being found in possession of 0.51 grams of methamphetamine and 2 grams of cannabis during a search of her home on June 15, 2017. For possessing a prohibited weapon, knuckle-dusters, she was sentenced to 150 hours of community service.
Drug driving
A Mandurama man was fined and disqualified from driving in Lithgow Local Court on February 8.
Paul Gregory Desmond Mayo, 38, was found guilty of driving with an illicit drug in his system. He tested positive for methylamphetamine when he was pulled over in Lithgow on October 5, 2017. He was fined $660 and his licence was suspended for six months.
Driver disqualified
A Portland man was found guilty of driving while disqualified in Lithgow Local Court on February 8. Matthew Alan Perceval, 33, was pulled over while driving at Cullen Bullen on October 25, 2017. He has been fined $550 and disqualified for six months.
Lithgow man Michael Luke Sharp was also disqualified for driving while suspended. He was fined $330 and disqualified for three months after he was pulled over at Katoomba on October 25.
Suspended sentence
Kandos man Brett-Jawn David Stenzel, 36, was handed a 20-month suspended jail sentence for assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Lithgow Local Court on February 9. The assault occurred in Kandos on February 28, 2017.
The court heard the victim was punched and kicked and the attack continued after he had fallen onto the ground. He was left with lacerations and bruising to his head, face, upper body, back and arms.
He also faced two charges of driving when he has never held a licence. He was disqualified for 12 months and received a six month suspended jail sentence on one count and a 12 month disqualification and eight month suspended sentence on the second.
Morning after
Christopher Mark Redding, 24, of Lidsdale was fined $550 and disqualified from driving for six months for low range drink driving.
He was pulled over for a random breath test between 9am-10am on December 17 and a breath analysis showed he was over the limit. He told officers he had been drinking the previous night.
Drugs
An Orange woman was fined $550 for possession of a prohibited drug in Lithgow Local Court on February 8. Sharon Lee Watson, 49, was pulled over driving on the Bells Line of Road and was found to be carrying four grams of cannabis.
Licence expired
A Newtown man was fined a total of $880 after being pulled over at Raglan on November 22, 2017. Sean Paul Lamerton, 28, was found guilty in Lithgow Local Court on February 8 of driving with a licence expired longer than two years, and using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
