The information session, at 1pm at the Saville Park rotunda on Williwa Street, will aim to provide information about what residents and businesses should consider before they order an NBN service from a phone or internet provider.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to try out the SkyMuster satellite service in the special demonstration truck, which carries a portable satellite antenna.
“The rollout of the NBN access network is one of the biggest transformations to Australia’s telecommunications industry to ever occur – it represents significant change for consumers and businesses as they make the move to the new network,” NBN local manager, Amber Dornbusch said.
“We have been listening to the community’s feedback and are committed to providing answers to the questions Portland residents want to know about the NBN access network and the factors which influence the speed of their internet service.
“We encourage members of the community to attend and ask any questions they may have.
If people would like to know when they can connect; I encourage them to visit the nbn website and put their address into the address checker.
