The cost of the refurbishment for the stadium would cost around $250,000.
“An upgrade is important for Lithgow basketball because the stadium hasn’t been upgraded since 1981, except for the floor which we do ourselves, at our own expense,” Lithgow Lazers coach Richard Marjoram said.

Marjoram stated that, with this money, they would get a new score board, basketball rings and backboards, seating, the lights would be completed and the floor would be stripped and resurfaced.
“It would set us up for the future of basketball and the come off would be great,” he said.
Marjoram said the next goal for the club would be to continue increasing the number of players and then to get an extension of another court and grandstand with possible heating.
“There are lots of companies now wanting to invest and give funding and grants for multi purpose stadiums,” Marjoram said.
While Lithgow Basketball Association keeps its fingers crossed for the grant it is also seeking more sponsors to join alongside their major sponsor, the Lithgow Workmen’s Club.
