Ben has been on fire for a number of months and will soon be moving up into the B grade.
His score of 63 nett was the best by four during the stroke event that saw the Monthly medals sponsored by Ron Evans Painting held in conjunction.
The A grade division went to John Chadwick on 67 nett, with Bill Oldfield as runner up on 7O. Bill also had the best scratch score with 72.
The New Year’s holiday Ambrose drew a good field and once again it was the Oldfield (pictured) who took out the major prize.
Bill Oldfield carried on his good form from the day before when he teamed up with Luke to finish with the very good score of 58 and a half.
Runners up on a count back was the team of Paul Cinat and Simon Mobbs on 59 and a half.
Christmas then came early for a number of golfers at the Lithgow Golf Club’s single Stableford event.
Scoring was expected to be good with the greens being in such excellent condition.
A grade golfer Greg Dykes finished with 42 points, showing he still has the form that saw him as one of Lithgows best over the years.
The best stableford score of the day went to B grade golfer Bob Ritchie who managed to register 45 points and take out the scratch score in this grade with 31 points.
The Oldfield’s also managed to take home team awards for first, second and fourth at the Christmas Cheer Day with golfers making up teams of three.
The winners were the team of Anthony Oldfield, Gary Keen and Don Lovett for a total of 110.
There was also a singles event where Ben Oldfield was the comfortable winner on his 42 points.
The Lithgow Golf Club is wishing all their members good health and golfing in 2018.
