WaterNSW is replacing filters on the Duckmaloi water treatment plant, a project which will have the plant offline for three days from Tuesday, December 5.
Approximately 1.5 megalitres of treated water held in reserve at the treatment plant will be used to supply affected residents – along with a back-feed supply from Lithgow City Council, which is currently operate on Level 3 Water Restrictions due to low rainfall.
As the Fish River Scheme will be supplied from the Lithgow City Council system during the maintenance work, it is requested that all consumers reduce their usage in line with council restrictions (https://council.lithgow.com/water/water-restrictions).
Under the Lithgow City Council’s Level 3 Water Restrictions:
- Private garden sprinklers, hand held hoses and micro-systems can only be used between 6am to 8am and 5pm to 7pm each day.
- Topping of swimming pools is permitted by hand held hose between 6am to 8am and 5pm to 7pm each day. The filling of pools is not permitted.
- Buckets or trigger hoses can only be used to wash down vehicles and paved surfaces.
