In particular Elaine McMahon has been hard at work, along with the help of Beryl Brain and fellow members. Together the ladies have created over 400 'Trauma Teddies’.
These teddies are handed out to doctors, dentists and other emergency services where they are needed, adding a feeling of happiness and colour to the room.
New committee
Lithgow's Red Cross branch has voted in its new committee for 2018.
The local committee welcomes and congratulates Norma Stephenson as president, Pat Charlton as secretary along with Louise Cameron as assistant secretary.
Barbara Weldon will act as treasurer, Lyn Michellson as team leader for personal support and Bev Coombs as publicity officer.
President Norma would like to thank Bunnings Warehouse for the time staff took to hold a barbecue for the Red Cross branch. She also thanked the community for its tremendous support.
The Red Cross branch is always looking to expand its committee.
“All are welcome to join,” President Norma said.
