The Youth Scholarship Program, established by Lithgow Youth Council and funded by Centennial Coal, is now open to all local students aged between 16-25 years who are attending TAFE or university in Lithgow, Bathurst or the Blue Mountains.
The scholarship offers $500 to young people experiencing financial hardship who wish to undertake further study.
“The scholarship aims to support local students enrolled at TAFE or university with the cost of fees, internet connection, books or other course related materials,” Lithgow Mayor Stephen Lesslie said.
Scholarship applications will be open year round and awarded on a case by case basis. The program is flexible and allows students to apply at any time and on more than one occasion.
Interested applicants will need to submit an application form, along with other documentation, which can be found on Council’s website at http://council.lithgow.com/youth-scholarship- program.
