The Lithgow Golf Club’s monthly medals were held on the weekend and, although the conditions were again tough, A grade winner Bill Oldfield turned in an outstanding sub par round of 70.

His two under round gave him a 66 nett which also secured him the best A grade scratch score and runner up was Darren Hunter on 70 nett.
B grade saw a tie with Brett Scanlon and Kobe Hunter finishing with 71 nett. Scanlon took the major voucher on a countback while Hunter had the best B grade scratch score with 81.
Scanlon, Hunter along with Dave Hicks will play off next month for the B grade medal.
A countback was also needed in C grade and Peter Haley triumphed over Geoff Wheeler with both golfers carding 71 nett. They too will play off next month for the medal.
Nearest the pins went to Gary Keen, Phil Rook, Greg Guest, Simon Mobbs and Tom Jennings. Balls in the ball competition cut out on 73 nett ocb.
Friday comp
Winner Darren Hunter 24 points; runner up Rob Pascoe 23 points; ball competition Paul Stewart, Dave Duroux, Kobe Hunter; nearest to the pin Darren Hunter.
Monday comp
Nine holes Johnathan Van Veen 28 points; 18 holes Steve Lewicki 36 points.
Workies ambrose
A good roll up turned out in near perfect conditions on the holiday Monday for the Workies Golf Club sponsored two person ambrose.
The winning team was Max Nightingale and John Chadwick with 62 and three quarters.
Runners up were Greg Hunter and Dave Titcum on 64 and a quarter.
Ball winners were Jeff Geddes and Paul Bosman, Laurie Northey and Steve Sellars and Chris Marjoram and Don Wolfenden.
Nearest the pins went to Don Wolfenden and Jeff Geddes.
Coming up
It will be a busy couple of months with some major events being played.
The draw for the Cock O' The Walk is now on the board.
The Holden Scramble four person ambrose has been set down for Sunday, October 15.
Nominations are also being called for the Foursomes Championships which will close on December 19.
