Howden continued his good form with a strong 31-9 win over Greg Hilliard in their semi-final contest last weekend
In the windy conditions Howden got away to a great start to lead 16-4 and ran away with the game despite some good bowls from Hilliard.
Next week’s final will be played between Howden and Barry Jackson. Jackson defeated Tony Holden 31-30 in the first semi-final the previous week.
In social bowls Greg Tilley, Des Francis and Dave Nunan were level on 9-all and then down 14-11 before storming home to defeat Chris Neaves, Peter Matchett and Dick Bulkeley 23-18.
Craig Brown and Bob Ray played Pommie Williams and Mike McNamara with Geoff Houlison leading for both. It was a nice friendly game with the score on 11 all after 16 ends but then Brown picked a 6 on the way to winning 20-14.
Don’t forget that we have the Thursday Turnabout Triples due to start so get your teams in. Individual players can also put their names on the sheet or see Pommie.
The draw for the triples is on the board with round one to be played on or before October 7 with round two played on the Sunday. A sheet is up for those who intend to play pennants.
