Bathurst City has won their first premiership since 2011, taking down Lithgow Panthers on their home ground 5-2. Since its last premiership win City has suffered four grand final defeats at the hands of Lithgow Panthers. But 2017 has re-written the history books.

Panthers opened scoring but City striked back with a two goal lead in the first half. City’s Brooke McFadden scored the team’s fourth goal in the first minute of the second half. The next one didn’t come until six minutes to go, from City’s coach Lisa Quinn. Panthers lifted their game in the last ten minutes of the match, Amelia Leard scoring the team’s second goal with two minutes to go. However, it wasn’t enough to salvage Panthers’ biggest loss of the season.
