Tonight St Patrick’s Parish Lithgow will be helping to raise funds for St Vincent de Paul by hosting a sleepout.
The sleepout will be held at La Salle Academy’s hall on August 11 and include students from St Patrick’s and La Salle.
The event will allow students to fundraise for the Vinnies Winter Sleepout Appeal and get a tiny taste of the discomforts of trying to sleep rough.
La Salle Academy teacher Jeff Larson said the sleepout would be a fun night for participants.
“They’ll be a soup dinner, some games and there will be movies,” he said.
A dance party has been organised for the event as well as a dress-up photo booth.
Students pay to participate in the event and the student organisers have been fundraising in the lead-up with a hundred club.
A mufti day at St Patrick’s Primary and La Salle on Friday, August 11 also helped raise funds.
