A woman and three men were involved in the assault, in which a door was kicked in at a Stewart Street address.
Police believe the woman’s son, who was asleep in the lounge room, was the focus of the attack. His mother, 56, in coming to his defence, was knocked aside and fell, breaking her elbow.
Police are being assisted in their inquiries by several people and investigations are continuing.
Man assaulted at train station
A Glebe man ordered to leave a train at Lithgow is alleged to have threatened and then kicked a bystander.
The 41-year-old man arrived in Lithgow at about 9.40am on Sunday morning.
Police allege he threw an object at a 32-year-old Lawson man standing on the platform, before threatening him and finally kicking him in the leg.
The victim and another 51-year-old man from Lithgow took shelter in the train station’s security area until police arrived a short time later.
The Glebe man was arrested and refused bail to face Bathurst Local Court on Monday morning, July 24.
