Suspended driver hits concrete barrier

A 33-year-old Newport man underwent blood alcohol testing after crashing into a concrete barrier at a roadwork area at Forty Bends on March 18.

The man was driving with a suspended licence when he crashed on his way west from Hartley at 6am.

He was taken to hospital disoriented but not seriously injured.

Police believed speed to be a factor in the crash.
