NSW Country selectors named Van Veen in the inaugural NSW Women's Country team to play in the tournament being held in Wollongong through to next Wednesday.
Van Veen’s selection continues on with her representative honours after taking part in Australia's first all-Indigenous female cricket team’s tour of India last year.
That squad was picked based on performances at club level and at 2016's National Indigenous Cricket Championships where Van Veen was voted Player of the Tournament.
The women‘s Bush Blues side will take part in T20 tournament against six other sides including an East Asia pacific side.
The women’s Bush Blues start the competition toady against Queensland at 6pm.
The ccnsw.nsw.cricket.com.au website has had live scores from the Bush Blues men’s side that started on Tuesday and will be the place to watch for game details.
The women’s side will continue on Saturday against the Northern Territory at 2pm. Sunday they will play two games, one against the EAP side at 10am and another against Victoria at 6pm. On Monday they play South Australia at 10am with Western Australia at 10am on Tuesday.
Semi-finals will start Tuesday afternoon with the grand final on Wednesday at 2pm.
