Mid-Western Regional Council Mayor, Des Kennedy said the announcement is a testament to the high class facility and is another opportunity to showcase our region to visitors.
“This is an exciting opportunity for our region. To have two national rugby union sides playing right here in Mudgee is phenomenal. I am extremely proud we’ve secured this event,” Mayor Kennedy said.
“Hosting a union game of this calibre will attract enormous local support and will see people travelling from other regional locations to participate. Local businesses and our tourism industry will benefit greatly from the flow on effects of an event like this.
“We hope the local community will get behind the game and come out and support the teams. It is up to us to make this a success to ensure they keep coming back.”
Ticketing details will be announced in November.
