A host of achievements were recognised and awards presented as Lithgow High School farewelled its Year 12 class at an emotional graduation ceremony.

The ceremony recognised the outstanding effort students have achieved during their final year.
The school auditorium was filled with parents, grandparents and friends who were extremely proud of the high standard of recipients that took out a wide array of awards.
First in Year 12 was awarded to Jarrad Pringle.
Dux is the highest average marks of all subjects combined during Year 12.
Principal Ann Caro congratulated Jarrad on receiving the Dux Award sponsored by Thales Australia.
To achieve first in Year 12 is a reflection of Jarrad’s consistent work ethic throughout his time at Lithgow High School, he is an outstanding, hard working and dedicated student who fully deserves to be recognised.
Jarrad was also presented with the Barry F Cosier Award for English, and the LJ Hooker Award for First in Course in Mathematics and TAS.
Joshua Kitchner and Cameron Denley accepted the Centennial Coal awards for 2nd and 3rd highest average marks overall during Year 12.
Joshua was also presented with the University of Notre Dame Australia Award for Outstanding Achievement in Science.
Cameron Denley received the Most Outstanding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student Award.
Mr Nic Dingle, Year 12 Adviser, personally congratulated Year 12 on their achievements.
Their consistent hard work and classroom performances have been rewarded with this recognition.
Abby Wilson received the Pierre De Coubertin Award, one of the most prestigious awards which recognises Olympic Spirit, sporting participation and performance while at school.
Abby was also awarded the Jessica Dean Memorial Trophy – Sportswoman of the Year Award.
The Citizenship award sponsored by EnergyAustralia was presented to Josana Stockdale and Jarod Inzitari for outstanding Student Leadership and commitment to the school.
Keely Newham and Christopher Seymour were presented with the highly contested Phil Duncan Scholarship Awards.
This is an annual scholarship given by ex-student of Lithgow High School Mr Phil Duncan, to “kick start” two students into the new chapter of their lives. Mr Duncan generously donates a monetary scholarship every year.
“To all of Year 12, the entire Lithgow High School community wish you the greatest success in your HSC and whatever path you choose into the future,” said a school representative.
