Rider suffers cardiac arrest
A 34-year-old Bella Vista man was airlifted to Westmead hospital in a critical condition after a crash involving a motorcycle and a four-wheel-drive on Saturday morning near Newnes.

The man was on an unregistered bike doing approximately 100-kilometres-an-hour on Glowworm Tunnel Road when he attempted to avoid the other vehicle and crashed into the bull bar of it.
He suffered serious leg injuries in the crash. Paramedics were treating the man at the scene when he went into cardiac arrest.
Police are investigating the crash.
Dangerous driver
Police have suspended on the spot the licence of a 17-year-old girl who was caught travelling east on the Great Western Highway at 104km/h in a 60km/h work zone.
The incident occurred on Sunday at 2.35pm while police were conducting stationary speed enforcement at Hartley
The driver was issued with an infringement for an over 30km/h speed and Licence Suspension Advice suspending her licence on the spot.
The driver had only held her licence for about 6 weeks and at the time, she had two passengers on board.
Lost canyoners
Four teenagers from Blacktown have spent a cold night on the Newnes plateau after getting lost on Friday afternoon canyoning in the area. Lithgow VRA were part of the team ready to search for the party the next morning but it was unnecessary after the party found their way back to their car and met emergency services.
The four canyoners who went down Rocky Creek Canyon had been well prepared and were able to set up camp and wait for the morning to find the track again.
Fuel theft
Police are looking for the driver of a white dual-control sweeper truck who on Saturday at 10.55am helped themselves to 142 litres of diesel without paying at a service station on the Great Western Highway at Bowenfels. The man was wearing hi-vis clothing and is believed to be in his 40s.
Thief busted
A man has been charged with a break and enter in Lithgow over the weekend, after he forced entry to a home in Fourth Street and stole a large amount of property from the resident. After he had left police were called and attended.The man was located, arrested and the property returned to its rightful owner.
