Dog attack
LITHGOW police used OC spray on a dog to subdue it after an attack on a woman and her dog on Mort Street, Saturday.

The 50-year-old woman was walking her dog on a lead along Mort Street at around 9.10am when a dog pushed through a fence of a house on the street and attacked her dog. The dog also attempted to bite the woman.
Luckily a police patrol was driving by and responded to the women’s situation.
The OC spray was used but it did not prevent the woman from receiving a bite on her hand from the dog.
The matter was referred to Lithgow Council rangers.
Police seize cash
AFTER a report of suspicious activity in the carpark of a fast food restaurant on the Great Western Highway Lithgow police have seized $40,000 in cash from a vehicle.
Police found the cash in the vehicle’s glove box on Thursday afternoon after a search was conducted following the report.
It was believed to be the proceeds of crime with charges pending an investigation into the matter.
Hartley crash
A 34-year-old Lithgow man suffered minor injuries after a motorcycle accident on Browns Gap at Hartley on Saturday afternoon.
The man told police that he lost control in loose gravel then went over an embankment and into a barbed wire fence.
The man was conveyed to Lithgow Hospital where a blood sample was taken.
Police are waiting on the result before further action on the incident.
Stolen and burnt
LITHGOW police are investigating a car stolen from Marrangaroo on the weekend that was found burnt out at Meadow Flat.
Police discovered the Mitsubishi on Thompsons Creek Road on Saturday but were unable to identify the owner of the vehicle at first.
On Sunday the owners returned to their home less the Mitsubishi and police were able to inform them of its whereabouts and unfortunate state.
Bike found
Anyone who has lost a black motorised bicycle can claim it from the Lithgow police station. The bike was found near Pau Street.
