Trent Lewis only had a 4 start when he played one of the comps improvers in Trystan Ford and it went right down to the wire. Both played with some skill though a lot of mistakes were also prevalent and it was close all the way through so close in fact when the black was potted scores were level. The black came out again and it was Lewis who potted it to win 54 – 47. Kyle Lewis was going to try to emulate his brother in his game against Jeff Holt. Lewis got out to an early lead with good play and Holt could not get going. Holt needed most of the colours for a win and almost did that but Lewis stood firm to win 49 – 40. Logan Spice made his debut to Tuesday night snooker and one would thought he would struggle considering he was up against the very seasoned Brett Holt. Spice was given the obligatory +15 handicap and that gave him a 23 point start and he did not show any signs of nerves as he went about giving Holt a lesson. Holt played well in patches but mainly was not on his game as he missed easy pots. Spice was potting well and will be one the handicap committee will be watching closely as he easily won 77 – 49. Jamie Glencorse has started the comp well and was poised very well when he played Sharon (Russell) Holt. Holt came flying out the starting boxes with vigour as she quickly took the lead. Glencorse was trying hard to pot some reds and was going close for no results. Holt slowed up and as usual Glencorse came alive on the colours starting to catch Holt but she stayed solid for a 62 – 45. 2015 John Zorz Regal winner Greg Sutton was up against the 2016 Terry Longdon Regal winner in Luke Morris. Sutton had a 24 start and started out well potting some good shots and Morris was a little off his game and took a while to settle down. Sutton went missing in the middle part of the game and Morris playing some good snookers was within sight. Morris needed the last 3 balls to make a double black but Sutton sank the pink to win 72 – 46. Wayne Lewis played very well at the beginning and the end of his game against Michael Wellings. Lewis was scoring freely and had a good lead while Wellings was struggling to get going and then it turned around Lewis faltered and Wellings found form and took the lead. Lewis came back and the scores were even with 2 balls left when Wellings finished the better 75 – 62. Players of the match were Trent Lewis and Michael Wellings.

Paul Hewitt and Dennis Goodwin put up a good battle to start off proceedings with one break the difference. Both played to the best of their abilities and it was close throughout and when Hewitt scored a 22 break it was over for Goodwin 54 – 33. Tom Drury played his best game in ages and Kevin Slaven was his victim. Slaven showed only slivers of form as Drury was all over him like a wet blanket and easily surged ahead to be the victor 80 – 44. Robert Farnsworth had a titanic struggle against his old team mate Ritchie Bilby. Both players started cautiously trying not to give the other the upper hand. Some good shots were produced and when Farnsworth accumulated a 17 break the writing was on the wall for Bilby as Farnsworth won 58 – 32. Michael Tonkin was in a battle royale when he played Matt Tattersall. Tattersall had a 29 start and needed all of that as both played some very good shots though in the end Tonkin came home strong to win 59 – 57. Dullaxe Thurlow was hoping to kick start his comp with a win when he played Garry Bender. Bender had other ideas as he took Thurlow to the cleaners by playing well and Thurlow did play well in patches he was not in the same league as Bender easily won 73 – 40. Mal Hewitt played Allan Piggott and on paper this should have been a close game and in the end it was not to be. Hewitt was at his best as he scored a 25 break and this one break was more points than Piggott scored all game. Hewitt embarrassed a lethargic Piggott 54 – 19. The players of the match were Mal Hewitt and Garry Bender.

Trevor Cameron played his usual steady safe game when he played Shannon Baer who had no luck at all. Baer fouled from the break and the bad luck stayed with him as Cameron caught and overtook the lead and was never headed as he won 68 – 38. Rod Denley was back to his worst as Frank Wawn gave him a lesson in snooker. Wawn was potting everything in sight and Denley was only treading water as he could only accumulate 8 points as Wawn easily won 73 – 34. Garry Nolan for the second week in a row has found a long awaited consistency when he played Terry Christian. Nolan played some mighty good shots and shot out to a good lead. Christian was rattled by the early onslaught and once he settled down he came home strongly but it was too late as Nolan had the game won 66 – 50. Jeff Stait played in a very close game against Cec Thompson and it was one good 22 point break for Stait that was the difference. Both were potting well and once the break was made Stait stayed in the lead though Thompson was coming back well it was all too late as Stait won 62 – 37. Aaron Engeler played Leo Keeley and finally Engeler proved that he can close out a game and not play some silly shots. Engeler had a 23 start and Keeley seemed to be playing too safe at times which was the difference in the end. Engeler maintained a big lead and he played safe in the end not giving away points like he has done before. Engeler maintained consistency to win 81 – 42. Tom Gaynor played Peter Warner and Warner started out playing safely and took the lead in the middle part of the game. Once on the colours Gaynor made his move and was solid and Warner played a risky shot on the blue which Gaynor put away. In a very good game Gaynor won 68 – 41. The players of the match were Aaron Engeler and Frank Wawn.
