THE hockey season has barely started and already Lithgow can boast four state representatives — Rylee Millar, Hannah Kable, Emily Thompson and Dane Guffogg.
All four will represent their state at the Australian championships to be held at the Illawarra Hockey Centre from April 9 to 17.
Rylee and Hannah will turn out for the NSW under 15 girls field team that will be coached by Scott New.
It is Rylee’s first taste of state selection and has been tipped by those in the know as one of the players to watch in the future.
Emily, who is yet to turn 14, was selected in the NSW under 15 girls Blues team that will be coached by Glenn Bisson.
The Blues side is mainly made up of the younger girls in that age group to blood them and give them experience at this top level.
Dane will represent in the NSW boys field blue side coached by Kieran Knowles and he too will be playing at Illawarra.
The four are no strangers to state representation with the quartet having represented at the highest of levels for a number of years, both at school and association level.
Dane made his debut for the Lithgow Panthers in the first round of the Premier League competition and acquitted himself very well and was one of the Panthers’ best.
Hannah, who joined the Panthers as a 14-year-old last year, already has a Premier League title to her credit following their win in 2015.
A confident player, Hannah has slipped into the Panther machine like she has been playing with them for several years.
Young Emily, who is still 13, is training with the Panthers and counting down the days until she turns 14 and can join them on the field.
It has been a great year already for Emily (bronze) and Hannah (gold) who both boast medals following the Australian indoor championships when they represented NSW in their respective teams.
The girls are the daughters of Michael and Robyn Beecroft, Michael and Katrina Kable and Mark and Angela Thompson while Dane is the son of Angie and Andrew Guffogg.
