AFTER a decade or so at the Court House Hotel, the Lithgow Bears Rugby League Club will be moving camp to the Lithgow Workmens Club who will be their major sponsor as of this year.

The club thanks former Court House Hotel owners Ray and Joy Smith for their support over the years and wish them well in their retirement.
The Bears are now looking forward to a lengthy partnership with the LithgowWorkmens Club.
“We thought it was time for a move,” Bears’ Ben Spittles said.
“We pride our club on being a family club and the LithgowWorkmens Club offers this type of atmosphere.
“With the new motel opening this year, we will be putting it out among opposition teams that travel a long way for our home games that the motel would be a great option for their players to play their games of a Saturday afternoon, have a meal and join the Bears in some refreshments and then stay the night before heading home the following day.
“We are extremely happy with the new sponsorship and also the facilities on offer at the club which are second to none.”
Workies’ manager GeoffWheeler said it was pleasing to see the club board members take on the Bears as sponsors.
“I have an affinity with the Bears, both as a player and then president for several years.
“They are a proud club with an excellent history and we welcome them to our club.”
The Bears are currently training under new coach Tony Northey with their first hit out being on April 2 at the New Era Cup knockout at Kandos with the competition starting the following week.
New players are always welcome.
