Stolen car recovered
LITHGOW police have recovered a stolen Ford Falcon Sedan after the vehicle was found crashed through a Sandford Avenue resident's front yard fence on Tuesday.
Police received a call at 2.14am after the owner of the property was awoken by the commotion and made the alarming discovery in the front yard.
When police arrived the driver of the vehicle had already fled the scene.
Police conducted enquiries and traced the owner of the vehicle back to a Whitton Street address.
When contacted the owners were shocked to find that his Sedan had been stolen and said they had last seen the car parked outside their home only hours earlier.
This latest car theft follows on from a series of car break-ins over the weekend and police are asking residents to be mindful of their vehicle's security.
