ATHLETES throughout the west will be participating in a Central West Crossfit competition to see who is the fittest and the best.
The competition is hosted by Crossfit Uplift at Club Revive in Lithgow with the competition being the second since its inception last year.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday October 24 at Club Revive Crossfit Uplife in Young Street, Lithgow and will go from 9am to 1.30pm.
The best athletes from throughout the central west will be participating with the trophy from last year being currently held by the home team Lithgow who will be keen to defend their title against tough opposition from Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo.
Spectators are welcome and they will be impressed by one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
Six teams will compete in strategic athletics racing where two six person teams — three men and three women — will go head to head in each round of events, culminating in a grand final between the two top scoring teams on the day.
Events are easy to follow and are played with pre set rules and standards.
Teams are generally made up of athletes with a variety of strengths to suit the three facets of crossfit: gymnastics, cardio endurance and weight lifting.
The format is designed to force teams to strategise and is an exciting and spectator friendly event.
