To ensure that the community is fully informed, Council will conduct public briefing sessions in Hartley, Wallerawang and the Capertee Valley over the next two weeks.
“The Council would like to invite all members of the community to come along to any of the briefing sessions”, Mayor Maree Statham said.
“The Briefing sessions provide an excellent opportunity for members of the public to be informed of what is in the Draft Operational Plan as well as to ask questions of councillors and staff.
“Copies of the plan and draft fees and charges can be read at the Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland libraries; the Council’s Administration Centre and are available for downloading on the Council’s web site www.lithgow.nsw.gov.au.
“Council would like to receive written submissions concerning those items that members of the community wish to see supported by the Council as well as those that they do not wish supported.”
Briefing sessions will be held at:
GLEN ALICE: Wednesday April 29 at 6pm, Glen Alice Community Hall
WALLERAWANG: Tuesday May 5 at 6.30pm, Wallerawang Bowling Club
HARTLEY: Wednesday May 6 at 6.30pm, Old Hartley Schoolhouse.
Council’s Corporate Strategy and Communications Officer will be available to discuss the Plans at the Lithgow Library Learning Centre on Wednesday April 29, from 10 – 11.30am.
For further information contact Council’s Administration Centre on 6354 9999.
Written public submissions close on Friday May 22 at 4.30pm.
Submissions may be sent to the General Manager, Lithgow City Council, PO Box 19, Lithgow 2790, or to ipr@lithgow.nsw.gov.au, quoting reference number IPR09-12.
All feedback from these briefing sessions and written public submissions will be tabled with Council for consideration prior to making its final decision in June.
