Local community organisations are being encouraged to apply for funding under the first round of Council’s 2015/16 Financial Assistance Program.
“The Financial Assistance Program offers grants up to $3,000 to community organisations to help them with local projects and activities that demonstrate a broad community benefit,” Lithgow mayor, Maree Statham said.
Some examples of Financial Assistance requests that Council may assist with include:
• Equipment for community and sporting organisations
• Youth projects and events
• Projects that support families and children
• Cultural activities
• Program costs for local services or events
“Each year Council allocates funding to a number of worthwhile community groups for programs, services and events that strengthen and enrich our community and I would like to remind organisations that applications for Round one close on 30 April 2015,” concluded the Mayor.
All requests for Financial Assistance must be on the official financial assistance application form. Application forms and guidelines can be obtained by visiting Council’s website at http://council.lithgow.com/ or they can be picked up from Council’s Administration Centre and Library branches in Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland, or by contacting Council to have one sent by post.
