COMING from dead last in the competition, Hampton now find themselves in the third grade grand final against La Salle Hornets — and judging on their previous couple of week’s form they are a good show of taking out the title.
Brett Campbell is hot off a century while Matt Gerard, Rick Hoolihan, Shannon Johns and Greg Kitchner are all in great form with the bat and can run up big scores.
The surprise package for Hampton has been the form of promising youngster Tan Singh who has been picking up a swag of wickets each week and is a player to watch in the future.
La Salle Hornets also boast a number of quality batsman in their captain Chris Bennett, Ash Redding, Logan Spice and Zac Flynn.
They have a good mix of experience and several good young players who will keep the Stingers in good stead for a number of years to come.
Although this is a third grade grand final, both sides have several players who would not look out of place in second or first grade.
