In fact there is just about something for everyone, no matter what the age.
What’s on
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY:
For the littlies, the Animal Nursery hosted by the students from La Salle Academy is always a favourite.
Come on in, have a nurse with furry friends, have your photo snapped with a chicken, rabbit, goat, ducks and many other animals that would not be out of place on Noah’s Ark.
Stroll around the Civic Ballroom with stalls, eats and craft work.
It will be chock full of commercial markets with traders keen to show off their wares.
Side show alley — for the thrill seekers — with rides that will turn you upside down, inside out and any which way but loose.
There are also the usual dodgems and stalls to test your skills with all promising lots of fun.
FRIDAY:
Friday is traditionally ‘family day’ that caters for the children with exciting entertainment for all.
The Lithgow Show Lawn Mower racing is back with the heats being held on Friday night with the finals to be staged on Saturday.
The race provides lots of fun with the lawnmowers modified and ready to go.
The Farmers Challenge returns by popular demand with the Lithgow High School, Portland Central School and La Salle Academy going head to head competing in a range of agricultural challenges.
The Farmers Challenge is designed to promote excellence in farming and showcase the involvement of youth in agriculture through a display of the skills, equipment and techniques farmers use every day.
Emphasis is placed on completing each challenge in the fastest time, but more importantly, with the correct technique and safe work ethics.
The challenges just keep on coming with the staging of the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) Challenge.
The RFS will be on hand to show their expertise in bushfire fighting, where they will set out a number of activities that will be scored on time, with penalties for safety branches and missed challenges.
It will be a great way to show your support for our local fire fighters.
