Organisers concreter Frank Capamolla and painter Ron Evans said: “We are very happy with the final tally.
“The day raised close to $9220 plus a some of money we presented to young Lithgow boys Connor Shield who has been doing it a bit tough travelling back and forward to Westmead hospital for treatment – although you would not know it by his attitude and happy disposition.
“We thank all the 'tradies' that sponsored the day and also those who played on the day.
“It was a day to remember and we are now looking to make it an annual event and help our local charities.
“There is no doubt about the generosity of the Lithgow community who are always up to support worthy causes and if they have a good time in doing so, it is all the better.
“The Lithgow Community Transport do a great job with our residents and are worthy recipients of our donation.”The Community Transports' Barry Furnell was ecstatic at the donation: “It is always hard to get funds in this economic climate.
“The donation will help us immensely and we are very grateful to the boys for considering us.”
Ron and Frank are already getting their heads together to make next year's golf day even bigger and better and it will again be in honour of Frank's late father Peter Capamolla.
Note: Thanks also goes out to sponsors George Redding Motors and Lithgow Fitness who were inadvertently missed out in the previous list of sponsors on the day.
