“We are happy with Ozzie’s (Graeme Osborne) decision to go around again,” club president Anthony Boza said.
“There are not too many coaches that put in the time and effort as Ozzie.
“He has a real passion for the game and we are confident that he can lead the club back to being one of the strongest club’s in the group.”
It will be Osborne’s seventh stint as premier league coach having won a premiership, been in three grand finals, one final and missed out on making the semis on two occasions.
Last season, the Wolves finished in seventh position, one behind the 2013 defending premiers Orange CYMS who also missed out on the play-offs.
The Wolves had a season to forget with players unavailable through suspensions, injuries and leaving the district due to their employment.
After coaching Shamrocks and Wallerawang, Osborne joined Workies Wolves in 2003 where he assisted coaches in all three grades before taking on a coaching role with the under 18s in 2008.
Since then, his coaching prowess has attracted those at a higher level and he has coached Group and Western sides over the past years.
He also acts in an overall coaching role for the Storm Junior Rugby League Club.
“Next year looks bright,” Osborne said.
“We will have the services again of two of our best in past years — Johnathan and Brendon Van Veen — who missed last season and we are also talking to a couple of other players.
“We missed the Van Veens big time and their inclusion in the side will be a real boost to our younger players.
“Star hooker Jamie Clark and five eighth Ben Stewart look like signing up again along with Joel O’Brien who was a real success in the backs before missing a couple of seasons.
“I am looking for big seasons from the Morris brothers, Brad and Luke, who were playing great football at the end of the year along with Keelan Bresac who will benefit from his first year in the top grade after coming out of juniors.
“We have a good crop of juniors coming through from the under 18s and I will be keeping my eye on the likes of Wayde Egan, Darcy Allan, Sam Rushworth, Nathan Redding, Matt Swift, Eli Felton, Liam Wilson, Nic Kenniff, Nathan McAndrew and Joel Gurney and a couple of others.
“If they apply themselves, there is no reason that some of them could force their way into the top team.”
The club will be holding its annual general meeting on Sunday November 9 at the Lithgow Workmens Club at 11am.
All positions will be declared vacant for the election of officers for 2015.
To go along with the appointment of Osborne, the club is calling for applications for their first division, under 18 and Oz League sides.
Applications for these positions will close on October 31.
The club is looking to hold a coaches and players ‘get-together’ in mid-November to swap ideas and nut out any problems to make the club strong for the coming season.
