Brandan was a part of the Workies Panthers side that defended the Western Premier League title.
He was also named in the under 21 men’s NSW team who played at Homebush.
Following outstanding efforts for his state was then named in the NSW men’s Waratah Squad and finally gained the ultimate place in the under 21 Australian team.
Brandan is one of NSW’s deadliest strikers, and is known for his freakish goal shooting and his overall threat in the opposition’s circle where he has pulled off some amazing goals.
He played a major part in NSW’s dominance in the national championships and was one of the leading scorers of the tournament.
NSW went through undefeated and won the title for the first time in 10 years.
Scores for the matches are:
Game 1 def Western Australia 5-0.
Horner scored a field goal.
Game 2 def South Australia 14-0,
Horner scoring a field goal.
Game 3 def Northern Territory 9-1.
Horner scored two field goals.
Game 4 def Australia Capital Territory 9-1.
Game 5 def Queensland 4-1.
Horner received man of the match after scoring the equaliser goal.
He earned this win, sustaining a stick to the forehead splitting his head open.
Game 6 def Victoria 4-0.
Game 7 def Tasmania 7-4.
NSW cruised through the semi final beating Western Australia 7-1.
It was another easy win in the final where they beat Victoria 7-2, Horner scoring two field goals.
Following the nationals the men’s Waratah squad was selected with Horner being named as one of the squad members.
The team was recently announced with Horner being named a shadow player.
He will now travel to Sydney twice a week for further team training.
Horner received the very exciting news of his selection in the Australian under 21s while playing in the Sydney Premier League competition with his team St George where he has been playing for the last two years.
The Aussie 21s will compete in Malaysia for the Sultan of Johor Cup from October 6 to 14.
Teams competing in this tournament include New Zealand, England, Pakistan, India and Malaysia.
Horner has been in scintillating form and apart from playing a key role in Panthers’ win, he also was the second highest scorer in the Sydney competition.

He will be accompanied to Malaysia with a strong contingent of family and Lithgow friends.
