Fourteen year old Logan took over the custodian roll after Luke Thurtell was unavailable through sickness and although a 11 goal onslaught might say that he had a bad game – it was on the contrary with the game youngster pulling off some great saves.
St Pat's former Australian rep Matt Taylor continued on his goal scoring streak adding a further six to his impressive tally.
Zig Zag played well for most of the first half and held the competition leaders to 1-0 right up until around 10 minutes before the break.
After they scored their second, the floodgates opened with the sides going into the break with St Pat leading 6-0.
In the second half, Logan showed his courage when he took on Josh Toole on a one on one contest with the youngster shutting him down with an excellent tackle.
Zig Zag were in defensive mode for the majority of the match with the only joy coming from goals to brothers Daniel and Luke Sheppeard.
Captain Ben Kelly said: “It was a tough match for Logan to debut in, but we were all very impressed with him.
“He has a big future and he certainly did not lack in courage and skill.
“We did not make it easy for him as our defence was fairly ordinary.
“Naylor is a class act and has racked up big tallies again much more experienced goalies over the past couple of weeks.
“St Pats will take a lot of stopping come grand final time.”
Goal scorers for St Pats were Naylor (6), Jaden Ekert (3) and Aiden Charters and Riley Hanrahan one each and for Ziggies, Luke and Daniel Sheppeard scored with young Daniels being his first in premier league hockey.
Points awards for Zig Zag went to Logan Hunter (3), Ben Kelly (2) and Michael Kelly (1).
It does not get any easier for Zig Zag who will take on second placed Lithgow Workies Panthers in the local derby on Saturday.
