This follows their good performances in the recent Hockey NSW State Championships at Newcastle.
They were both part of last year’s gold medal winning NSW team that defeated Western Australia in the final 6-1.
For Nathan Mitchell, this will be his second NSW State Team tour and apart from his defensive role, his coach wants him to take part in the drag flicking role in the attacking penalty corners.
David Reid has been selected as goal keeper and is no stranger to the role after selections in both Indoor and Field Hockey NSW state teams.
In an interesting note about David and Nathan – they now play all three forms of hockey.
Along with indoor and outdoor hockey they also travel to Sydney Ice Arena and compete in the Ice Hockey League.
Both athletes play and train in the Sydney and Illawarra men’s competitions. Nathan plays for Gordon and also turns out with the Lithgow Workies Panthers Western Premier League side while David plays with the University teams.
Nathan is the son of John and Cindy Mitchell and David is the son of Barry and Marilyn Reid.
