The Lithgow Apprentice and Trainee of the Year Awards are an opportunity for apprentices and trainees to look over their achievements during the course of their studies, along with a chance to thank their respective employers who help make the programs possible.
Skillset CEO Craig Randazzo delivered a short speech outlining how impressed he was at the good work occurring at the Lithgow branch, after which the winners of the 2014 awards were announced.
Large Host Company of the Year was awarded to Lithgow City Council, while Small Host Company of the Year went to Masters Landscape.
Alex Scheibner was named Apprentice of the Year for his studies in Engineering-Mechanical Trade Certificate III.
Alex is hosted at Angus Place Colliery.
His hard work and dedication were highly praised.
As a mature age apprentice, Alex also sets a strong example for the younger apprentices to follow and has become an invaluable member of staff at Angus Place.
Trainee of the Year was Katherine Adlington.
Katherine’s award was in recognition for her work towards her Real Estate Certificate IV with Rachael Goldsworthy Realty.
Sheer dedication to her role and her studies, coupled with an eagerness to learn and impeccable customer service skills were what set Katherine apart from the competition.
Representatives from both Angus Place and Rachael Goldsworthy Realty were on hand to congratulate Alex and Katherine and attest to their dedication and professionalism.
