The Richardson Cup team (juniors) dominated play during the day to be undefeated in three games to be placed first in their pool.
They recorded wins against Lithgow Public, Kandos and St Joseph’s Oberon.
In the semi finals they were far too strong for All Hallows from Gulgong placing them undefeated all day and a place in the finals.
The final was played against a combined St Pats-Joeys side with both teams evenly matched throughout scoring try for try.
With the final buzzing sounding it was declared a draw with five tries each.
Outstanding play and defence came from Bailey Brown, Wil Stockton, Wade Fraser, Kye Cameron and Billy Rushworth, well supported by teammates Saezar Scanlan, Kayne Dewar, Aydan Thomas, Logan Ward and Byron Lamborn.
It was a real team effort for this great bunch of children.
It was wonderful to see the support the older children in the team in Kye Cameron, Billy Rushworth and Wade Fraser gave to the younger members, guiding and supporting them through the day's play.
Thanks are extended to coach Chris Brown who has committed time to training the team.
Brown is skilled, supportive and nurturing, this also extends to the other coaches Corey Stockton and Marty Rushworth.
This is another example of the strong partnership the school has with the community to ensure the are students are provided with opportunities.
All connected are very proud of what they have achieved.
They will now move to finals day in Dubbo at the end of June.
