Lithgow mayor Maree Statham is encouraging local community organisations to apply for funding under the first round of Council’s 2014-15 Financial Assistance program.
“The Financial Assistance program offers grants of generally up to $3000 to community organisations to help them with local projects and activities that demonstrate a broad community benefit,” Cr Statham said.
The mayor gave examples of the types of worthwhile Financial Assistance requests council may assist with including:
* Equipment for community and sporting organisations.
* Youth projects and events.
* Projects that support families and children.
* Cultural activities including the costs of uniforms and other materials.
* Program costs for local services or events.
“I would like to remind organisations that applications for round one of 2014-15 Financial Assistance must be submitted by April 30,” she said.
All requests for financial assistance must be on the official
Financial Assistance Application form.
Application forms and guidelines can be obtained by visiting Council’s website at www.lithgow.nsw.gov.au, or they can be picked up from Council’s Administration Centre and Lithgow Library, or by contacting Council to have one sent by post.
Further information about Council’s Financial Assistance program can be obtained from Council’s Community Development Officers Viktoria Gulabovski and Melanie Jones.
