Saturday's (Dec 18) event was the Zig Zag Motel Summer Cup and again thanks to the Motel's Inzitari family for sponsoring this major event.
The Summer Cup champions were Darren Hunter who took out the scratch title while young Mitchell Wallace was the handicap winner.
Hunter (2) has been one of the Club's elite golfers for many years and was on fire when he set up his score of 71 with a brilliant front nine that saw him card four birdies and a bogey for a score of 33.
The handicap champion was Mitchell Wallace (19) who was a clear cut winner finishing four strokes better than the next best nett score. Wallace who has been back to golf only a couple of weeks after injuring himself in a mountain bike fall played some of his best golf to finish with a score of 65 nett.
Scoring was also good in the grade competitions which saw the following results. In A grade, the consistent Dave Titcume (8) continued his good recent form returning a score of 69 nett counting out Craig McManus (7) who also finished with 69 nett.

Andrew Burton (+1) continues his dominance of scratch wins with a score of 73. It was good to see Brendan Roach (14) back playing competition golf and he showed his talents when he took out the B grade handicap with a score of 70 nett on a countback. Runner up was Michael Casey (10) also on 70 nett with Kyle Egan (11) registering the best scratch score.
C grade went to Neil Hutchinson (25) with a nett score of 72 on a countback from runner up Josh Jones (20). Anthony Potts (25) took out the best scratch score with a 99.
Vouchers went down to those with 72 nett and they were Bill Oldfield, Michael Hunter, Dave Thompson, Ken Mitchell, Al Mostyn, Ross Harrington, Justin Nelson, Paul Stewart, Anthony Boza and Mark Seckold.
Nearest to the pins were Jonathan Van Veen, Brendan Roach, Darren Hunter, Brett Scanlon and for the second week in a row Tallan Egan on the 18th hole.
Wednesday nine hole competition (Dec 15): Winner was Brian Judge with a score of 27 points. Runner up was Scott Hunter 19 points and in third place was Ken Mitchell 18 points.
Vouchers went to Les Barnes, Chris Goodsell, Jeff Geddes, Rob George and Carlos Garibotto. Cut out on 15 points. Nearest to the pins went to Brian Judge and John Bird.
Friday nine hole competition (Dec 17):Winner on 19 points on a countback was Harry Bender. Runner up was Travis Cameron and in third spot was Paul Stewart with both golfers on 19 points.
Vouchers went to Kev Casey, Greg Dykes, Wayne Morris, Brendan Horner, Nathan Mitchell and Chris Goodsell.
