The Championships were again sponsored by D&J FORD and the Golf Club is very appreciative of the continuing sponsorship, with many thanks to Kevin Doonan.
Generally scores were mediocre due to the extreme wetness of the golf course, in places absolutely waterlogged and the greens had just been renovated and the grass long which made putting very difficult as well. However the competition was able to go ahead.
The Championships are played in two division because of the smaller number of Ladies but the perpetual trophies are awarded in A, B and C Grade.
Handicap scores:
Day 1 - First division Jennifer Wild had an excellent score or 70 nett while Marie Hackett's 74 was the best in 2nd Division.
Held in conjunction with Day One was the 2021 Gold Medal playoff. Jennifer Wild won First Division while Pat Livermore was successful in Division Two.
Day 2 - Olwyn King (1st) and Janice Cohen (2nd) were the winners, again with a good 72 nett.
Day 3 - Carol Osborne (1st) blitzed the field with 70 nett and Robyn Houlison returned a great 71 nett.
Day 4 - Olwyn King showed her consistency by winning First Div with a 75 nett and Fran Le Fevre won Second Div with 77 nett.
72 holes Handicap - First Div saw Olwyn King, who had returned four good rounds, win with 299 nett with Carol Osborne close behind on 302 nett.
Second Div 72 holes handicap was also a tussle with Robyn Houlison 311 winning while Janice Cohen was runner up.
The 2021 Club Championship was won by Lynne Ritchie while the runner up was Olwyn King.
The B Grade Champion is Janice Cohen. Unfortunately Marie Hackett was doing well in the B Grade but due to round postponements Marie had to have a medical procedure and wasn't able to play the 4th round. The runner up was Robyn Houlison.

Thanks to all the players who competed in the 2021 Championships - Four rounds of stroke play on our golf course at the moment was a great effort.
